When to Book Your Maternity Photoshoot
The best time to schedule your maternity session is typically between 28 to 34 weeks of pregnancy. At this stage, your belly has a lovely, full shape that photographs beautifully, and you’re still comfortable enough to move around during the session. However, every pregnancy is unique, and I’m happy to work with you to find the perfect timing based on how you’re feeling.
Studio or Outdoor: The Choice is Yours
As an Edmonton-based photography studio, I offer expecting mothers the flexibility to choose between an in-studio session or an outdoor location within Edmonton and the surrounding areas. In the studio, we have complete control over lighting, making the timing of your session more flexible to suit your schedule. For outdoor shoots, I generally recommend scheduling close to sunset for that perfect golden-hour glow, though we can discuss the best timing during the booking process.
Wardrobe Options and Client Comfort
You’ll have access to a carefully curated client closet with a variety of stunning maternity gowns for both outdoor and studio sessions. If you prefer to bring your own attire for a more personal touch, I’m here to help with styling advice to ensure you look and feel your best.
My priority is to make sure your session is as relaxed and enjoyable as possible. For outdoor shoots, I provide a private changing area so you can switch outfits comfortably. In the studio, we offer a dedicated changing area and a cozy sitting space for family members who may accompany you.
Including Family in Your Maternity Session
Maternity sessions are a wonderful way to include your partner and children in the celebration of your growing family. In the studio, we’ll start with group shots before moving on to solo portraits. For outdoor sessions, we’ll mix group and individual shots throughout the session, which is especially ideal if siblings are joining in.
Quick Turnaround for Your Photos
I understand how eager you are to share your beautiful photos with family and friends. That’s why I send a proofing gallery within 24-72 hours after the shoot. Once you’ve selected your favourite images, I’ll deliver the fully edited photos within 1.5 weeks. My goal is to provide you with stunning, high-quality images in a timely manner.
